Nissan Leaf EV 2023 Appears Simpler and Price Rises Slightly –

In the midst of the growing popularity of electric vehicle models, the Nissan Leaf electric car which appeared first in 2010 has lost its way.

In the year 2023, Nissan is gearing up to launch the new Ariya EV car with a bigger, flashier and more expensive body, but, on the other hand, their Nissan Leaf brand only gets simple changes. At the front, the Nissan Leaf’s grille, headlights and bumper have been changed, but even when the two cars are compared side by side the differences between the two cars are not easy to spot.

Nissan also says that body elements have also been reshaped to improve aerodynamics. The new design element that really stands out is Leaf’s new multispoke wheels which have a funky feel. Then following the existing trend, their Nissan badge was also made to glow.

There are only two models

The lineup of five trim models from the 2022 Nissan Leaf, this time cut to only two models, namely the base level S and SV Plus for the mid-level. As before, the base trim has a 147 horsepower electric motor powered by a 40.0 kWh battery. Admittedly, these two specifications are quite small compared to other EV competitors. Meanwhile, the SV Plus trim returns with a superior 214 horsepower motor and 62.0-kWh battery.

Both models have a front wheel drive system. Estimated range is not expected to deviate much from the current version of 149 miles for the S trim and 215 miles for the SV Plus trim. The Nissan Leaf continues to use the CHAdeMO charging connection it left behind from its factory counterpart, the new Nissan Ariya car that adopts the more popular CCS connection and is used by most other car lines.

Inside, the Nissan Leaf 2023 features new black fabric upholstery with gray upholstery on the S grade or black gloss upholstery on the SV Plus. All Nissan Leaf models feature the Safety Shield 360 suite as standard, including six active driving assist technologies, while the SV Plus models add the ProPilot Assist system and Intelligent Around View Monitor.

For the US market, this car did not experience significant price changes. The Nissan Leaf in 2023 is only up $470 (7 Million Rupiah) compared to last year. The Leaf S 2023 will start at $28,895 (428 Million IDR) and the SV Plus at $36,895 (547 Million IDR) when the models will arrive in the middle of this year. When compared to the main competitors from the Nissan Leaf Brand, namely the Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV, this new Nissan car is more expensive where the two cars from its competitors are priced at $26,595 (394 Million Rupiah) and $28,195 (Rp 418 Million).
